My spin on the classic Margherita pizza cooked on a charcoal grill. This pizza features a thin, crispy crust topped with fresh ingredients including ripe tomatoes, fragrant basil, and creamy mozzarella cheese. The smoky flavor from the charcoal grill adds a unique twist to this traditional Italian dish. Each bite offers a perfect balance of tangy tomatoes, earthy basil, and gooey cheese, all melded together by the charred crust. This charcoal grilled Margherita pizza is a delightful culinary experience for those who appreciate simplicity and bold flavors.



Ingredients:

1 loaf of Rhodes Bake-N-Serve pizza dough or your desired dough

  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce

  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella, sliced

  • Fresh basil leaves

  • Olive oil

  • Salt and pepper



    Instructions to Prepare Margherita Pizza:

    1. Preheat Grill: Preheat your grill to 450°F (230°C).

    2. Prepare Dough: Roll out your pizza dough on a floured surface into a circle.

    3. Add Sauce: Spread a layer of pizza sauce on the dough, leaving some space around the edges.

    4. Add Cheese: Add sliced mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.

    5. Add Basil Leaves: Place fresh basil leaves on top of the cheese.

    6. Drizzle Olive Oil: Drizzle olive oil over the pizza.

    7. Season: Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste.

    8. Grill: Transfer the pizza to the grates on the grill for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
