Maple Glazed Brussels Sprouts and Garlic Scallops Recipe
Ingredients:
For the Maple Glazed Brussels Sprouts:
1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
2 tablespoons bacon grease
Salt and black pepper to taste
3 tablespoons maple syrup
4 slices of bacon
1/4 cup of Chicken Broth / Unsalted
For the Garlic Scallops:
1 lb large sea scallops, patted dry
3 cloves garlic, sliced thinly
2 tablespoons butter
Salt and black pepper to taste & Old Bay
White Wine 1/4 cup
Instructions:
Maple Glazed Brussels Sprouts:
1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
2. Cook the bacon and reserve the grease.
3. Set the crispy bacon aside.
4. Add the halved Brussel Sprouts to the skillet, add about a 2 tbs of the bacon grease to the skillet.
5. Season the Brussels with the salt and pepper.
6. Add 1/4 of a cup of chicken broth.
7. Drizzle with Maple Syrup and sprinkle pieces from the bacon on the Brussel Sprouts.
8. Cover and let simmer for 10-15 minutes
Garlic Scallops:
1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
2. Add butter to the skillet and let it melt, then add the thinly sliced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
3. Place the scallops in the skillet, making sure not to overcrowd them. add 1/4 cup of white wine.
4. Season with salt and pepper / Old Bay to taste on both sides.
5. Cook the scallops for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and opaque in the center.
