The image you see was made by me. I first had this dish in Hawaii, and it quickly became one of my favorite meals there. It's simple to make and bursting with flavors from the hamburger patty, egg, and rice.



Preparation:

Loco Moco: A Delicious Hawaiian Dish

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of ground beef

  • 1 tablespoon of oil

  • 4 cups of cooked white rice

  • 4 eggs

  • 1 cup of beef gravy

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

1. Form the Beef Patties: Take the ground beef and form it into 4 equal-sized patties. Season each patty with salt and pepper.
2. Cook the Beef Patties: Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the beef patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
3. Cook the Eggs: In a separate pan, fry or scramble the eggs according to your preference.
4. Prepare the Rice: Scoop a generous portion of cooked white rice onto each plate, dividing it equally among the servings.
5. Assemble the Dish: Place a cooked beef patty on top of the rice on each plate. Then, top each patty with a fried or scrambled egg.
6. Add the Gravy: Pour a generous amount of beef gravy over the dish, allowing it to cover the rice and beef patty.
7. Serve: Loco Moco is best enjoyed immediately while everything is still warm.
